Dear readers,
Introducing the first issue of a new peer - reviewed international journal on cardiovascular surgery and transplantation, cardiology and broad spectrum of relevant disciplines – Heart Vessels and Transplantation, I would like to highlight main editorial and publishing policies.
You may find in the next Editorial the reasons why we decided to publish a new international peer - reviewed journal. We fully endorse international rules on biomedical publishing and publication ethics. Our journal is published in English language; we apply the double - blind unbiased peer - review, including internal review by section editors and external reviewers, experts on the topic.
We follow principle of international diversity – editorial board, reviewers and authors. Therefore, we invite and welcome submissions from around the region and world. We announced the details of editorial and publishing policies, instructions to authors, where you can find all necessary information before submission of your articles for consideration for publication to our journal in our website: www.hvt-journal.com and in this issue.
I would like to inform that journal follows the publication ethics principles, to prevent scientific or ethical misconduct. Authors are required to fill and submit the authorship form and conflict of interest forms along with their manuscripts. All these forms and additional information - international guide lines how to present research articles according to the design of the study, systematic reviews and meta - analyses, case reports can be accessed online at Authors` corner and through links to sources, which was created to help our authors with preparation of manuscripts before submission to the journal. In this context, we published two editorial articles, prepared by our section editors on academic writing, and how to present results of statistical analyses.
In this 1 st issue you can find research articles on cardiovascular surgery, and public health, review article with focus on cardiac surgery and invited review on cardiac imaging, case report and brief report, editorials. We encourage you to submit letters to the editors discussing the results of published research studies and systematic reviews, brief reports, opinions as clinicians regarding published case reports. We invite you to send letters covering the emerging debates on various topics of healthcare, announcing projects in the field of cardiovascular surgery, cardiology, internal medicine and broader range of specialties, undergraduate and postgraduate continuous medical education and create a platform for exchange of opinions of medical professionals. We believe if we carry out all above mentioned responsibilities as authors, reviewers and editors we will reach our goal to bring your research and clinical experience to broad audience of international healthcare professionals and science community and contribute thus to the knowledge pool of evidence - based medicine.
As an Editor - in - Chief I will write once a year with the complete analysis of journal`s performance based on readability statistics and citation analysis of published articles, and adjustments in editorial policies according to the results. Along with this, Editors of our journal will address different hot and emerging issues during the publication year.
