Dear Readers,

In this last issue of the year 2018, we published original research articles on role of cytokines in hypertension with LVH and surgical AF ablation, interesting case report and challenging quiz on paced ECG, as well as invited review on advances on echocardiography.  We as editors hope you will find them interesting and useful in you clinical and research work.

We also share with our readers loss of one of our editors Professor Usen B. Baisakov, you can find In memoriam article.

Concluding this year, we would like to inform that we continue vigorous peer-review process publishing meticulously selected research articles, reviews and case reports. Based on surveys of our authors, reviewers we continue our educational activities publishing quizzes, editorials and publishing  highlights of education activities our journal team was part of. We continue implementing our international diversity principle for reviewers, authors and editors. Our website was visited from 137 countries and 1393 cities around the world. The most read and downloaded articles, published in 2017 and in  2018, are presented in tables 1 and 2, respectively (We thank our web editor Pavel Tiumkin for preparation of statistics and tables).

In 2018, we joined DOAJ database, Google Scholar and Kyrgyz Index of Science Citations, and our authors  can earn now points for their publications.

With best wishes in 2019 and we look forward for articles, that we will be glad to evaluate based on principles of unbiased peer-review.
